Chris, 46 – who hosted the Chris Moyles show on Radio 1 from January 2004 to September 2012 but was notorious for his neglect to make room for new breakfast slot host Nick Grimshaw – was open to his displeasure with the BBC’s tendencies to « drop » their talents. p>

Supposedly, Chris was reprimanded for « talking too much » on his show, then adding, « They had an ad for Nick’s show, » now with adding music, « which was clearly a p ** s-take about how much we talked on the show

“I was like, well, the most successful breakfast program I’ve ever had, with the most listeners in over a decade, that’s kind of like for us and eight million listeners Well, I’m back!”

He also welcomed the newcomers, writing: “It’s very exciting to have new people in R1. It was my first suitable job outside of Uni back in the day, and my ad feeling like DJ R1 is unlike anything else

Greg said, “It’s sad news about phillytaggart, @ dev_101, and @huwstephens though all that cool on radio is so weird when your pals leave

While discussing the change, new station chief Aled Haydn Jones said, “Dev, Huw and Phil have been very valuable members of the Radio 1 family over the years

‘They are all excellent broadcasters and I’m glad we’ll hear more from Huw and Phil elsewhere on BBC Radio

“I would like to thank each of them for their contribution to Radio 1 and wish them all the best for the future”

Stevens, BBC Music Service Provider, said he « loved every minute of 21 years of broadcasting on Radio 1 »

Chillest Show presenter Taggart said, « Someone put on some montage, and I’m going for a slow walk outside the door. Thanks to everyone who worked with him and listened. »

Five new presenters will join Radio 1, as part of the changes, effective January 4

Friday’s Early Breakfast will feature « Top New and Emerging Presentation Talents », with a new presenter hosting the show on a monthly rotation basis

Moving On: The former Strictly Come Dancing contestant, currently presenting Friday to Sunday afternoons, tweeted, «  It was an absolute privilege and I’m happy to entertain and entertain loads of listeners, but I’m ready for some new challenges.  »

Among them is Molly Finn, who will take over as her first job at radio after previously volunteering as a presenter on Bournemouth University’s student station

Other hosts are Joel Mitchell, who previously appeared on BBC Leeds, and at Mac, who hosts Drive Time on London’s West Side Radio

New presenter Sian Eleri, from Wales, will be host of Chillest Show on Radio 1 and Gemma Bradley, from Northern Ireland, will host a BBC Music presentation

Other changes will see current Radio 1 presenters Arielle Free, Adele Roberts, Matt Edmondson, and Mollie King switch to different shows

Radio 1 President Hayden Jones said, « This is a really exciting time for Radio 1 as we prepare to welcome the next generation of talent. »

DJ James said of his overtime: “I have been contacted by my listeners part-time for two years because I left them on Fridays, so it was time for me to put on a shift and be with them all week

« And in any case, I’ll just be home looking for stupid things online, so I might go and share this crap
