Mississippi State at No 6 LSU – 3:30 p.m., CBS: Tigers to kick off their SEC national title defense in CBS Game of the Week against freshman coach Mike Leach and Bulldogs quarterback of the Tigers Myles Brennan has some big shoes to fill after Joe Burrow won the Heisman Trophy last season, and will have plenty of new faces that will have to grow up with him if they are to win their second straight SEC West title

No 2 Alabama Missouri – 7 pm, ESPN: The Crimson Tide start the season with plenty of experience on both sides of the ball and will look to make a statement on the road against an experienced Tigers defense Could this be the game Who Kicks Quarterback Mac Jones’ Campaign For Heisman Trophy? It will be interesting to see what he looks like after taking the job in the offseason
