Midfielder Gary Thompson insists that the Crusaders will go on a revenge mission when they face Larn in the big night’s match for excellent Dansk Punk at Inver Park (5. 30 m).

When the two teams met at the same venue last month in County Antrim Shield, the East Antrim boys crushed 4-0..

Both sides are close to clashing well. Cruz’s team lost only once – against champion Linfield – and are knocked out after their impressive 1–0 home win over Coleraine, runners-up last season.. .

Although Enver’s men are yet to be defeated, they have tied their last two matches against Glintoran and Warrenpoint Town.

Thompson (30) thinks the bigger the match, the better for his team leading the table with David Healy Blues.. .

« We’re happy enough with the way things are. . . We’ve got off to a good start, Thompson said.

« At this point in the season, you need to collect as many points as possible.

“It’s going to be another really difficult game for Larne. We got a bad score in Shield not too long ago, so we know what to expect.

“They are a good team; they always try to play the right way. We beat up well at night. But it probably wasn’t actually a bad thing. Maybe he gave us a reality check.

“We have had some good results since that defeat, so we look forward to going back there again.

“They have lost a few points during the last few games which will make them more determined to get back on the right track.

After an indifferent start to his days at Seaview since joining Ballymena United two years ago, Thompson appears to have donned the first team jersey.

He added: « I do not take something for granted and it will not be carried away. ». « We’re only in four or five games.

“When I joined Crues, I had a broken foot that kept me off the field for some time. I managed to play a few matches last year and worked really hard on the shutdown, promised fit and strong.

“We have a great team. When the Giant (Stephen Baxter) gave me the shirt, it was up to me to keep it.

« When you look at our bench, there’s Rory Hill and Diklan Cadell, who both play in my positions. ». Any of these boys would likely go to any team.
