We are in the final throes of the transfer window with Burnley still keen to add to their squad this summer

The Clarets have so far signed only midfielder Dale Stephens and goalkeeper Will Norris, but boss Sean Dyche remains keen to add new faces to what is an elongated squad

Burnley is set to retain James Tarkowski after ruling him out of a move to Leicester City and West Ham United as they linked Ben Mee and Ashley Westwood to new offers

And although Monday’s deadline is looming for the Clarets and other Premier League clubs, the Clarets will have a second chance to do their business

All Premier League clubs will be required to conduct international business by 11pm Monday 5 October

The same goes for EFL clubs, which cannot recruit anyone from abroad after Monday’s deadline

Players could still be sold overseas after this deadline, allowing this league’s transfer window to remain open

Premier League clubs can sign EFL players and vice versa until the second transfer window closes

Likewise, EFL clubs can still trade with each other, unlike Premier League clubs, without restriction on transfers within the same division

Well, the Clarets have looked to the league a lot in recent seasons to strengthen their squad with Josh Brownhill the latest example

And there remains a host of talent at the second level, with Burnley keeping an eye on a number of players

The Clarets have an interest in Joe Worrall at Nottingham Forest, although his injury and Tarkowski’s situation may prevent Burnley from moving for center-back

This is also the case for Craig Dawson at Watford and Middlesbrough’s Dael Fry – two players the Clarets have long been interested in

A creative midfielder is one area the Clarets want to add and they could review a deal for QPR squad member Bright Osayi-Samuel, a player they have been watching closely

While Bristol City winger Niclas Elliason and Boro full-back Djed Spence are other players who have been linked to the club
