Holly Arnold might have been born without her right forearm, but she definitely didn’t let that hold her back.

As a baby, I’m a celebrity. . . Get me out of here, the star was given a plastic arm that she learned to crawl on, but Holly, 26, gave it up later and could tie her shoelaces with one hand when she was five.

“I got a lot better without it – it was really cool,” her proud mom Jill ex told the Daily Mail.

“She was always wearing her first clothes after her physical education class at her school. I just learned to adapt and live without it.

During the summer athletics tournament, she discovered her talent and discovered that she had a knack for javelin.

Holly won seven golds the first time she competed in a disabled sporting event at the age of 11..

In 2008, at the age of only 14, she was chosen to represent Great Britain at the Beijing Summer Paralympics, where she ranked 11th in the F42-46 women’s javelin throw. .

However, without her right arm, Holly struggled to balance until the prosthetics company that provides limbs to injured soldiers fitted her with a heavy prosthesis..

She is now one of the most successful athletes in the world after winning the gold medal at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro with a world record throw of 43. 01 meters.

For mom Jeel, she first learned of her daughter’s disability when a doctor called her after a routine 20-week check-up..

“It was a huge shock. I was transferred to another hospital for a high-resolution scan as the doctors were concerned that something else might be affecting the baby as well.  ». .

For Holly, growing up, she struggled to accept the missing part of her end and would do everything in her power to hide it..

“I thought it was a big journey for me to be handicapped because I hated the way I looked,” she told Stylist.
