Preston North End boss Alex Neil admits he’s surprised crowd will be allowed to watch game at Norwich City
Johnson, subject of interest from Rangers, travelled with his PNE team-mates to Norfolk but didn’t make the match day squad because of a groin injury.
Striker Stockley was due to play but had to be taken out of the squad at lunchtime after North End were informed a member of his family had come into contact with someone displaying Covid-19 symptoms.
Under the health protocol, Stockley now has to isolate. Arrangements have been made for him to travel home separately from the squad.
Stockley did test positive for Covid-19 in early June when football was preparing for the restart. But he still has to isolate.
North End manager Alex Neil made five changes to the side which beat Derby County 2-1 in the Carabao Cup last Tuesday night.
Ben Pearson, Ben Davies, Ryan Ledson, Tom Barkhuizen and Scott Sinclair came into the starting XI.
Joe Rafferty kept his place at left-back in preference to Andrew Hughes, Patrick Bauer likewise in the centre of defence after Jordan Storey started the Championship opener against Swansea.
