Sampdoria sporting director Carlo Osti discussed the club’s interest in signing Inter wing back Antonio Candreva in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia ahead of the Ligurian side’s league clash against Juventus tonight.
“Antonio Candreva is a player we like a lot, but we’re not the only club interested in him. It is up to him and his agent to decide between the various offers and we’re waiting to see what happens.
“Due to our interest in Candreva, the work to sign Răzvan Marin has slowed, as his arrival depends on who we get in our wide roles, which also affects the midfielders.”
The 33-year-old Candreva, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until the end of next season, is likely to leave the Milanese club in the next few weeks, as the club look to offload players unneeded by coach Antonio Conte.
