JASON Tindall believes Watford will be ‘delighted’ to keep hold of some of his key players as they seek immediate Premier League return

The relegated Hornets have made a good start to life in the Championship, currently sitting third in the standings

In addition to losing a host of players and changing managers during a busy summer, Watford has retained the services of Ismaila Sarr and Troy Deeney, despite the interest of rumors from elsewhere.

« I think it’s important for any team that you keep your best players, » Tindall said

« I’m sure Watford is delighted Sarr and Deeney are two great players for them

« The impact Sarr has had since Watford signed him, I think he’s been fantastic It’s no surprise to see Premier League clubs wanting to sign him I think that just shows the importance to keep this type of players, because they are the ones who make the difference as we have seen

« The same for us, to be able to keep Josh King on deadline when there was a lot of speculation, and some of the other good young players that we have

« I think that’s a big thing, an important thing, and although we have lost some high quality players who have done so well for us over the years, but I think it’s expected when you get relegated »
