Former Nottingham Forest loanee Ross McCormack has made a surprise move to National League Aldershot Town.
The 34-year-old had a short spell at the City Ground from Aston Villa in 2017, scoring once in seven appearances.
He went on to join Australian sides Melbourne City and Central Coast Mariners on loan, then Motherwell, in Scotland, before being released by Villa in the summer of 2019.
He will now play in the same division as Notts County, after putting pen to paper for Aldershot.
“It wasn’t a hard decision to make to be honest (on joining the club), but now is the right time to come back and get going again in England,” the striker told the club website.
“Having spoken to Tanns (Craig Tanner), the gaffer and and speaking to the staff and the lads here, I feel like it’s the right place to do it.”
