According to the commission, an equal number of electronic voting machine (EVM) sets and VVPATs have been arranged for 33,782 polling stations in all 78 assembly constituencies.
According to the Chief Electoral Officer’s office, paramilitary forces have been deployed at all polling stations under vigilante security arrangements and live webcasting will also be arranged at select polling stations.
As part of the third and final phase of elections for the 243-member state assembly, voting will be held on Saturday in 78 assembly constituencies in 15 districts, of which about 234 crore voters will be able to exercise their franchise and decide the fate of 1204 candidates. These candidates include the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly and 12 members of the State Cabinet.

A total of 1,204 candidates are in the fray, of which 110 are women. Gaighat has the highest number of candidates (31) while the four constituencies of Dhaka, Triveniganj, Jokihat and Bahadurganj have the least number of candidates (9). In this phase 35 candidates of BJP, 37 of JD (U) and 44 of RJD are in the fray.
