Former Barcelona President Josep Maria Bartomeu was reportedly arrested after a police raid on the club’s offices.
Catalan police raided the club’s headquarters in the Nou camp as part of an Investigation into the « Barcagate » scandal last year, in which club officials were accused of running a smear campaign against current and former players who criticized Bartomeu.
The Times knows that Oscar Grau, the club’s executive director , Roman Gomez Ponti, the head of the legal department, and Jaume Masferrer, one of Bartomeu’s closest advisers, were also arrested.
Police would not confirm the number of arrests, but said the operation was carried out by officers from the department for Financial crimes being committed.
