Matilda’s captain Sam Kerr enjoyed her most beautiful day in Chelsea blue, scoring a hat trick as they defended their Women’s League Cup title with a 6-0 win over Bristol City in the final.
Kerr took just 90 seconds to put Chelsea in the lead at the showdown on the Watford Vicarage Road on Sunday and ran City for an hour with her special one-two with her attacking partner Fran Kirby, who scored twice.
The brilliant Australian also scored in the 10th minute and three minutes after half when she completed her three-of-a-kind in a rather dominant performance by the English champions.
