The Los Angeles Clippers are hosting the Orlando Magic at the Staples Center on Tuesday night.
The Orlando Magic were in a real slump when they lost 13 of their last 15 games and they hope they can skid a two game after falling painfully to the Lakers in a 96-93 road loss on Sunday. Dwayne Bacon led the team with 26 points and eight rebounds, Chuma Okeke added 14 points with six rebounds and three assists, while Mo Bamba filled in with 11 points, seven rebounds, three assists and three blocks from the bench. As a team, the Magic shot just 38 percent off the field and 11 out of 33 percent from the 3-point line as they bounced back from a 13-point deficit to take the lead in mid-fourth quarter before the Lakers with one Pivotal responded 9-1 run so they could steal the game late.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Clippers were in fiery shape having won eight of their last ten games. They’ll look to build on their current winning streak in six games after getting past the Bucks in a home game between 129-105 last night win. Marcus Morris led the team with 25 points, Kawhi Leonard added 23 points with nine rebounds and eight assists, Luke Kennard scored 21 points while Reggie Jackson stepped in with 20 points. As a team, the Clippers shot 53 percent from the field and 19 percent from 34 percent from the 3-point line as they fell 12 points in the first quarter before dominating the rest of the way as they exploded for 39 points the second quarter before restricting the dollar to just 19 points in the fourth quarter.
Looking at betting trends, the Magic 7-1 ATS are in their last eight games against a team with a winning record, 3-7-1 ATS in their last 11 games against a team over 600 and 6-2 ATS in their last eight games in total. The Clippers have 8-0 ATS in their last eight games with no rest days, 5-0 ATS in their last five home games and 5-0 ATS in their last five games overall.
Head to head has been the minority in the last few 27 sessions total 18-7-2 and the magic in the last five sessions total 0-5 ATS.
The Magic have been really struggling with all of their squad changes lately, but they showed a lot of struggle in their narrow loss to the Lakers on Sunday, while the Clippers look like the hottest team in the league after having light work with them last night the Bucks without their second best player in Paul George, who was sitting outside with a sore foot. This is a classic case of two teams going in opposite directions and I know which team I would rather get my money for. Give me the clippers to stay hot with another win and cover here.
