A man from the Victoria area who went missing while snorkeling off the South Australian coast was reportedly killed by a shark.
Police on Friday morning while searching for waters on Surfers Way near Port Macdonnell in the lower southeast of the state discovered a damaged wetsuit and fins believed to belong to the 32-year-old.
It comes after a shark was discovered by a police helicopter in the area on Thursday.
« Tragically suspected the police that the Victorian man was the victim of a shark attack, « said the SA police in a statement.
The police were contacted on Thursday after the disappearance of the man and started a search by SES crews , Fisheries SA and local volunteers.
The air and sea search will now be scaled back and the police will prepare a report for the coroner.
