Microsoft Ireland was joined by Taoiseach Micheál Martin TD today to announce the further expansion of its EMEA digital sales team based in Dublin with the creation of 200 new jobs. The company also revealed details of its new Microsoft Sales Academy, which will enable 25 employees of diverse backgrounds and with little or no digital skills to build careers in digital sales.

Today’s announcement builds on Microsoft Ireland’s announcement for technical Investments in November 2020, which created 200 new technical functions and an investment of EUR 27 million in a new technical hub on the growing campus in Leopardstown, Dublin.

Recruiting for the 200 new positions is in the Underway, with the intention of filling all roles before May 2021. Microsoft Ireland is looking for applications to fill a wide range of digital sales positions, including sales representatives, technical sales specialists, cloud solution architects, account executives and sales managers. The company is seeking candidates with fluent languages ​​such as English, French, German, Dutch, Swedish, Norwegian, Italian and Spanish to meet customer needs across the EMEA region.

The new Microsoft Sales Academy offers employees with different backgrounds, experiences and skills the sales and technical skills to be successful in a digital sales environment. The academy builds on Microsoft’s ongoing digital education and training programs to help people participate fully in the digital economy.

With four planned waves of admission per calendar year, the six-month sales training program provides employees with the expertise to support the digital transformation of companies worldwide. At the end of the program, the employees change to a role as digital sales representative with the skills to support the digital transformation of customers. 25 of the new positions announced today are for positions in the Sales Academy.

New employees will join an existing team of 1,000+ highly skilled salespeople who use the latest technology platforms and analytics to better meet customer needs. The EMEA Digital Sales team in Dublin was founded in 2017 with an initial number of 500 employees and has grown rapidly as companies use digital transformation worldwide.

After the current recruitment phase is completed, Microsoft Ireland will have more than 2,800 employees in Ireland the Leopardstown campus and data center.
