Giannis Antetokounmpo had 31 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists for his third triple-double in a row to lead the Milwaukee Bucks past Washington Wizards 133-122 for the fourth year in a row on Monday night.

The bucks retreated late after losing a 26 point lead in the third quarter to five in the middle of the fourth quarter. When the Wizards hit within seven in the final minutes, Antetokounmpo scored the next four points to make it a double-digit game again.

« I’m not Kobe, » said Antetokounmpo. « I’m just trying to be a basketball player. I don’t look at the clock and say, ‘Oh, it’s two or two now, let me take over the game.’ No, I just make the right decision at the right moment. Sometimes it will be a score, sometimes it will be a pass. « 

Antetokounmpo scored 64 points in the two-game series in Washington, which Milwaukee won, 26 rebounds and 21 assists. The consecutive NBA MVP had 24 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists in the first triple-double of that run against the New York Knicks last week.

« He was in a good place mentally, » said Trainer Mike Budenholzer: « Just as he plays and creates for others and creates for himself and comes to the free-throw line, he is in a good place. He plays great basketball.

Antetokounmpo was the third player this season to triple-double in three games in a row. He switched to Russell Westbrook from Washington, who did it twice, and Jimmy Butler from Miami. His seventh career 30-point triple-double overtook Kareem Abdul-Jabbar the most in team history and he is the first Bucks player to have three triple-doubles in a row.

« It’s not always about a goal » said Antetokounmpo. « You can manipulate the game in several ways: pass, find your teammates, put them in place. »

The Bucks have kept pace with the leaders of the Eastern Conference in Philadelphia and are now two games back with Brooklyn in between.

The Clippers played for the first time in one 51 point blowout on her home seat in December and one night after a 20 point loss to Dallas in New Orleans. The NBA’s only undefeated team at the end of consecutive games improved to 7-0, tying Phoenix (7-1) for most of those wins.

Luka Doncic scored his ninth triple-double for Dallas, finishing with 25 points , 16 assists and 10 rebounds. Kristaps Porzingis scored 22 points.

Paul George scored 15 when seven Clippers finished in double digits. Ivica Zubac had 15 points and 11 rebounds. Nicolas Batum, who sat while Morris made his third start of the season, had a couple of big 3 points and scored 14. Reggie Jackson and Patrick Patterson scored 12 apiece. Terry Rozier scored 26 points, Gordon Hayward added 25 and the Hornets broke a 15-point deficit in the second half to beat the Sacramento Kings 122-116 after leaving most of the game behind.

De’Aaron Fox led the Kings with 29 points , while Richaun Holmes had 17 points and 15 rebounds in a game where Marvin Bagley III left early with a broken left hand.

Rozier and Hayward, who were together 13 of 13 off the foul line, helped that Freeze game, with everyone taking a pair of free throws in the final seconds, helping the Hornets outperform Kings 21-8 in the final 5 1/2 minutes.

Nikola Jokic scored his 35th double-double with 32 points and 14 rebounds and led the Denver Nuggets over the travel-weary Indiana Pacers 121-106.

Michael Porter Jr. and Will Barton each scored 20 points for the Nuggets, who used a great fourth quarter to claim victory.

Malcom Brogdon led Indiana at 24 and Justin Holiday at 19. Domantas Sabonis finished a rebound before a triple-double with 10 points and 10 assists.

The start of the game was postponed by an hour as the Pacers could not fly from Phoenix to Denver until Monday afternoon. A snow storm that officially dropped 27 inches at Denver International Airport closed the runways starting late Sunday morning. Four runways reopened Monday afternoon.

Devin Booker scored 27 points, Chris Paul added 18 and the Phoenix Suns won 122-99 against the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Suns have won six of their last seven games and came back after a loss to Indiana on Saturday 122: 111. They won the season against the Grizzlies two games to one.

Booker shot 10 of 19 out of the field, beating his season average of 25 points per game despite being sidelined in the fourth quarter. Deandre Ayton added 15 points, nine rebounds and three blocks while Jae Crowder scored 14.
