Tuley: Regular VSiN readers probably assume I’ll take the bears – and not just because I grew up in the Chicago suburbs and have a daughter named after Walter Payton, but also because because they are the biggest dogs on the board. Though most others pass the bears on for lack of trust in Mitchell Trubisky, what stops me is that the better defense is actually on New Orleans’ side – which adds to the lack of trust in Trubisky.
I think , The bears defense is also stepping up and giving Chicago their best chance, which is why I think the best game is in the under. If that line wasn’t quite that high, I’d recommend a teaser on the Saints, but I don’t like -3.5 and I’m not crazy about paying extra juice to buy seven points to get it under a field goal
Hill: About a month ago I spent Ravens 1400 to win the AFC on « My Guys in the Desert, » and I’m betting that number too. While I feel even better with this ticket now, that line seems a tad high, especially with such a key number.
These teams met twice in the past year. The Titans shocked the Ravens last January as double-digit underdogs in one of the biggest playoff troubles of all time. They played again in the regular season and the Titans won 30-24 in extra time as 6-point dogs. Both games were played in Baltimore, while Sunday’s game will take place in Tennessee.
Building the lead will be of the essence – neither a team is playing nor a drop-back-passing team, both of which excel Game actions. I would make a big bet that whoever wins the coin toss would take the ball first to try and get the other team to play from behind.
The Ravens play incredibly well and lead the league on point differential, but they’ve been eating their way into the League’s underbelly lately. Blowing out the jaguars, bengali and giants doesn’t justify this high line against a titan team that had its number. Take the points in yet another classic and maybe the best game of the weekend.
Tuley: When I originally submitted my games to the VSiN NFL Best Bets page in Point Spread Weekly, I got Browns-Steelers Over 46, 5, then the total was set to 47 and even 47.5 on Tuesday and changed to Bears-Saints Under 47. My confidence in the over also took a hit when it was revealed that Cleveland coach Kevin Stefanski was playing after one will miss a positive COVID-19 test. My guess is that this game is more like the Steelers ’38-7 win on October 18 and less like the Browns’ 24:22 win last Sunday, where Pittsburgh almost rose to victory despite being outnumbered. I don’t put the points, but I’ll include the Steelers in teasers as they just have to win the game.
