Alex Galchenyuk made his Maple Leafs debut against the Calgary Flames on Friday (TVAS, SNO, SNW, ESPN, NHL.TV). < The striker, acquired on February 15 in a deal with the Carolina Hurricanes, was supposed to skate in line with John Tavares and William Nylander. Galchenyuk scored one goal in eight games with the Ottawa Senators and eight points (two goals, six assists) in six games with Toronto of the American Hockey League this season.

« There were four days off between games and a few days of practice a good chance for him to be on our team, « said Sheldon Keefe, Maple Leafs coach. « He played very well with the Marlies and did very well. He has a lot of confidence and is feeling really good about his game so the timing is right. »

Wayne Simmonds made a return to the Toronto lineup . The striker, who has not played since his wrist fracture against the Vancouver Canucks on February 6, was in line with Pierre Engvall and Jason Spezza.

« Was on the bench in the locker room in terms of skill level and even strength he’s a great player for our team, « said striker Mitchell Marner. « I think everyone is excited when we bring him back here. He comes in every day with a positive attitude and that’s something everyone wants but is hard every now and then. But he does it very well and it’s something that you want to be close. «

The striker was called on Wednesday by the Toronto Maple Leafs for exemptions and started warmup ahead of a 3-2 win over the Ottawa Senators that night but was due to problems with the Work visa a late scratch.

Vesey, who signed a $ 900,000 one-year deal with the Maple Leafs on October 11, has seven points (five goals, two assists) in 30 games that season.

Matt Dumba is in doubt for the wild when they visit the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday (3:00 p.m. ET; NHLN, ALT, FS-N, FS-WI, NHL.TV).

The defender was injured when he hit the boards feet first and was helped off the ice without straining his right leg at 1:00 p.m. of the second period when he lost 5-1 to the Avalanche on Thursday.

Dumba did 11 points (five goals, six assists) and an average of 22:09 Ice Age in 26 games this season elt.

« If we have to leave tomorrow (without playing Dumba), we will feel very good, » said Evason. « And going forward we will evaluate and meet game after game, and we will evaluate who is in the lineup and evaluate if we have the opportunity to bring in someone, be it the cab or from Iowa (the American Hockey League). » « – Jessi Pierce

The goalkeeper left the team in the second phase of a 3-2 win over the Dallas Stars on Thursday after colliding with Red Wings striker Denis Gurianov and defender Patrik Nemeth. Bernier was replaced by Thomas Greiss, who allowed two goals out of 16 shots.

« I don’t know if that day will span a week or weeks, » Blashill said on Friday. « It’s all healing based and I just can’t tell you say how long it will take. «

Blashill was asked if Bernier would play if the Red Wings hosted the Stars on Saturday (7pm ET; FS-D, FS-SW, NHL.TV).

« I don’t want to answer that until I know exactly, » said Blashill. « [We will] see him come in tomorrow. He’s had tests. He was rated. I would just say it’s one of those injuries that could heal quickly, could take longer. We’re just not sure. «

Bernier is 8-6-0 with 2.78 goals against the average and a saving of 0.918 percent in 17 games (16 starts) this season.

» Um seeing a goalkeeper uncomfortably staying down is in such a vulnerable position when he’s down and someone falls on them that you never want this to happen, « said Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin. » He was such an important player to us and he’s been our best player this season – the last couple of seasons – so he means a lot to us. … We hope he’s fine. « – Nicholas J. Cotsonika
