Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes that young strikers are not as good as their older counterparts when it comes to scoring headers, as headline teaching at academies has declined due to concerns about a dementia link.
Solskjaer recently welcomed the announcement that research into the risks of headers had begun, describing it as a « serious problem » and admitting that he believed that Manchester United may need to reduce the header in their youth line-up.
Mason Greenwood, arguably the club’s deadliest finisher, has scored 12 goals in the Premier League but only one of them – last week’s winner against Brighton & Hove Albion – came with his head.
