World news – Olympic swimmer arrested in drug raid

Olympian Scott Miller, who won bronze and silver medals for swimming, was arrested in drug raids across Sydney.

Olympic gold medalist Scott Miller was arrested for substance abuse this morning in Sydney after a series of raids.

« The activity relates to an ongoing investigation by the State Crime Command’s drug and firearms team into illegal drug shipments across NSW, » he said.

In 1996 Miller won bronze and silver medals for swimming at the Atlanta Olympics before his life collapsed and he got into drug use.

He was married to television personality Charlotte Dawson in 1999, but the couple separated after a short time. Dawson committed suicide in 2014.
