Police say the pilot took off from an airfield on Koo Wee Rup Road when the weight-shifting plane crashed at around 6:50 a.m. on Sunday. The « very experienced » pilot was, according to the Sport Aviation Federation of Australia killed in impact.
« Our thoughts and condolences go to the pilot’s family and friends at this sad time, » said a Federation statement.
« Victoria Police are investigating The accident is currently underway and the Australian Sports Aviation Federation is assisting the police.
« It is too early to determine the cause of the accident and we cannot comment until the investigation is completed. »
