The Dark Knight are hoping to advance to the Baltimore Orioles in 2021, and the team won Matt Harvey’s first start with the Organization against the Boston Red Sox last week.
Harvey allowed two runs in 4² / ₃ Innings in a 4-2 win on his weekend debut in Baltimore, his first appearance in more than three innings since the 2019 season. On four starts and three reliefs at the Kansas City Royals last season, Harvey scored an ERA of 11.57 with a whip of 2.74 while allowing 20.8 hits and 4.8 home runs per nine innings. If Harvey starts against the Red Sox on Thursday in Baltimore, Boston will counter with Eduardo Rodriguez, who will make his first start since a 2019 season in which he posted a 19-6 record with a 3.81 ERA, but the League led in walks. With so much free time, Rodriguez seems to be on a shorter leash than usual.
The Red Sox pitchers competed Wednesday with opponents who tied off .266 of them, finishing 25th in MLB. On the offensive, however, Boston was seventh among the bats, which resulted in an extra hit.
Both pitchers are unlikely to get deep into this game, and both teams have taxed bullpens since Thursday was the seventh day in Sequence for each team with a game is there. Both should be able to get their crimes rolling.
