Education Minister Rosy Akbar has urged the department heads of Lekutu Secondary School to report cases of abuse or bullying in the school.
At the groundbreaking ceremony for the new school building yesterday, Akbar said there are procedures and processes that are in place should be followed if there are such cases.
The minister stated that it was their responsibility to protect all children and that such cases should be reported.
Akbar was relieved that in the Northern Division schools have no reports of bullying and abuse compared to schools in Viti Levu.
She has encouraged students to always speak and communicate with their parents and teachers about issues they face.
