The Bruce Highway is closed in several places and a manhunt is ongoing after a number of car accidents believed to be related to numerous stolen cars.

Queensland Police Service members responded to a crash near the intersection of Woolcock St and Wagner St in Shaw shortly after 11:30 a.m.

It goes without saying that the red ute was driving on the wrong side of the road when it hit other vehicles.

Shortly before this incident, emergency services were required in Black River for another multiple vehicle accident on Bowden Road.

The two accidents are believed to be linked and police are currently searching for a person of interest in the Black River bushland.

The Bruce Highway is currently closed in both directions north of Black River Rd and in Deeragun between North Shore Blvd and Wagner St.
