Ohio state coach Ryan Day had incredible praise for running Alabama Najee Harris back during a Sunday morning press conference. With all the elite offensive talent in the Crimson Tide roster, Day said Harris was the « most versatile » player the Buckeyes will face this season.

When the College Football Playoffs national championship game was scheduled to take place on Monday night, the OSU head coach shared his final thoughts on Harris and # 1 Alabama ahead of the marquee matchup.

« Yeah, I think Najee Harris is playing at a high level this season, » said Day. “I think a big part of it is the offensive line, the tight ends, how well they block. But he runs really hard. If you take him to the second level he can make the guys miss in a number of different ways. I think he’s running hard. He falls forward a lot.

« He did a good job also in the passing game, in protection. He caught balls as a receiver. He caught balls coming out of the backfield, his check-downs. So he’s a Complete back. Very versatile.

Najee Harris was absolutely unstoppable in the current game this year and reached 1,387 yards and 24 touchdowns on the ground in 2020.

But his contributions in the passing game are often underestimated. The senior , who runs back, racked up 346 yards and three air touchdowns during the perfect 12-0 season of the Crimson Tide.

Harris’ incredible stats didn’t go unnoticed, with Bama fourth year back finishing fifth at the Heisman Trophy and voted behind two of his teammates – Devonta Smith (winner) and QB Mac Jones (3rd).

Under the leadership of these three, Alabama will clash with a relatively heavy Ohio State crime on Monday night at 8:15 p.m. ET
