ROM – The Vice President of the Spanish Government, Pablo Iglesias, has decided to leave the government to run for the regional elections in Madrid on May 4th, El Pais reported on Monday. « Madrid needs a left government and I think I can be useful, » said the chairman of Podemos in a video message in which he said his decision was motivated by a desire to « prevent the far-right party from assuming responsibility to take over « institutions ». The immediate reaction was the outgoing President Isabel Díaz Ayuso of the People’s Party, who wrote « Communism or Libertad » on Twitter.
