Stefanos Tsitsipas, fifth, showed a dominant performance to beat the Swede Mikael Ymer 6: 4: 6: 1: 6: 1 and gallop into the fourth round of the Australian Open on Saturday.
After a highly competitive opening set that saw Tsitsipas only manage a single break from Ymer’s 95th serve, the Greek stepped up to turn the game at the John Cain Arena into a one-sided affair.
Tsitsipas broke the His 22-year-old served twice in the second set and four times in the third set while suffering only a single break on his own serve, while Ymer did nothing to help his own cause with 36 unforced mistakes.
Tsitsipas, a semi-finalist in Melbourne Park in 2019 will next face the winner of the game between ninth Italian Matteo Berrettini and 19-year-old Russian Karen Khachanov.
