World news – Sylvia and Pete welcome the second child

The golden TV couple Sylvia Jeffreys and Peter Stefanovic have announced the birth of their second child, a little boy.

Jeffreys, 34, posted the happy news on Instagram this morning, revealing that the couple had named him Henry.

« Henry. Our beautiful, healthy little boy makes us a family of four, » Jeffreys wrote. « His proud parents couldn’t be happier. His big brother is learning to be gentle. Great love everywhere. »

The couple’s first child, Oscar, was born in January last year. They announced in October that they were expecting their second.

They started dating in 2013 after meeting on the set of the Channel 9 breakfast show, and were engaged to be on vacation in France in 2016.

When the television personality talked about her difficult fertility journey on Today Extra, she tried to fight the tears and got co-host David Campbell to reach her with a loving pat on the hand and comfort her.

The duo interviewed mom Brooke Campbell about IVF treatment, specifically deciding what to do with leftover embryos when a family no longer wants to use them.

An emotional Sylvia, clearly close to tears as she spoke, said, « Brooke, I know from my personal experience with IVF that it takes so much to have a successful embryo. »

She continued, « To have something there that gives you the opportunity to make life for your family. How are you and your husband? »

Moments later, Sylvia continued, « It’s such a fascinating subject and Brooke is obviously something so raw for you right now. Thank you for sharing.

« The silver lining with unused embryos is that you experienced your miracles. You had your babies. So that’s the nice part of it, » she added, still weeping.

It was the first time Sylvia had publicly commented on how she and her husband Peter had trouble getting pregnant.
