Animal Crossing: New Horizons is getting new villagers this month, and they’re not just characters. Nintendo recently announced the Sanrio Collaboration Pack, which will be released later this month.

Aside from the new residents, players will also be able to add themed furniture and other in-game items with this update. The Sanrio Crossover Pack will be launched with six amiibo cards.

The upcoming amiibo bundle « Animal Crossing: New Horizons » contains six cards named after the villagers who add the Sanrio Collaboration Pack to the game becomes. The arriving residents are called Rilla, Marty, Etoile, Chai, Chelsea and Toby. If these names sound familiar, it’s because they’re the same cards that came from the earlier Sanrio crossover Nintendo that was released for Animal Crossing: New Leaf.

This time around, any card can be scanned via the amiibo function by « Animal Crossing: New Horizons ». Every Sanrio resident is supplied with Sanrio-themed furniture and other in-game items that are only available through these amiibo cards.

Just the idea of having new residents – those from the Sanrio world – should be enough to convince the players of Animal Crossing: New Horizons that this crossover is worth the hype. But that’s not all it will add to the game.

Each Sanrio card also gives players animal Crossing: New Horizons furniture designed after popular Sanrio characters. With the Rilla card, players receive a Hello Kitty-inspired costume and furniture. The Chelsea, Etoile, Marty, Chai and Toby cards contain in-game items based on My Melody, Little Twin Stars Kiki and Lala, Pompompurin, Cinnamoroll and Kerokerokeroppi, respectively.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons players in the US, the Sanrio Collaboration Pack amiibo cards are available exclusively from Target for $ 5.99. They’ll be released on March 26th.

The Sanrio Cards are actually the second major crossover to take place for Animal Crossing: New Horizons this year. Just last week Nintendo unveiled a variety of Super Mario-themed items that were added to the game with the latest update. Animal Crossing: New Horizons needs to be updated to the latest version in order to use Super Mario items appear when the clock hits March 1st in the player’s local time zone. While the update that provides this crossover is free, much of the in-game items included in this collaboration are paid content that can be found via the Nook Shopping feature.
