Twitter suspended one of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s accounts on Friday – 17 hours after Iran’s Supreme Leader pledged « revenge » on former President Trump for the assassination of General Qassem Soleimani.
The tweet from Khamenei on Thursday showed the resemblance of Trump on the golf course being targeted by a drone flying overhead.
Several other Twitter accounts operated by Khamenei’s office were still running on Friday, but the offensive tweet did not appear to be published The post came a little more than a year after Soleimani, the head of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps-Quds Force, was killed in a US air strike ordered by the Trump administration.
