A man who drowned at Currumbin Beach on the Gold Coast has been identified as former Wallabies and Queensland Reds player Mick Barry
According to the Courier Mail, Dr Barry was taken from the water on Friday morning but could not be resuscitated

Dr Barry was a prominent member of the community and a member of the local swim surf group
The former half-back made his Queensland debut in 1966 and represented Australia in a test match against South Africa in 1971
