Derryn Belford, Acting Managing Director of Tourism WA, said: « We are proud to lead this partnership with Virgin Australia and Qantas, to further encourage Western Australians to explore our amazing state »

Through this partnership, Virgin Australia will offer airline tickets between Perth and Broome starting at $ 199 one way between November 2, 2020 and October 30, 2021, or to Kununurra from $ 249 one way between March 29 and September 30, 2021

These flights sold out within a week when a similar sale was offered through a Tourism WA partnership in July

Qantas will be offering one-way fares between Perth and Exmouth from November 2020 for 12 months, priced at $ 149 one-way in low season (October 25 to March 27, if booked 30 days in advance), and 169 USD in high season (from March 28 to October 30, by reservation 45 days in advance)

This program was launched to support tourism businesses that attract visitors to the state and are struggling due to COVID-19

The grants will help tourism businesses survive the continuing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and give others the resources they need to focus on attracting domestic visitors and ensuring they can continue to offer high quality tourist experiences

We know the best way for the tourism industry to turn around is for local people to support local businesses and therefore we continue to encourage Western Australians to roam there

Our A Million Reasons to Wander out Yonder voucher program is our most recent initiative.This promotion has been specially designed for our tours and experiences as we know this is an area that suffers from a lack of interstate and international visitors In just over a week, there were over $ 300,000 worth of tours and experiences booked by locals, with just over 1,000 vouchers redeemed

The latest announcement from Regional Aviation, the allocation of funds for the Tourism Business Survival Grant program, and the launch of the Wander Vouchers are all important milestones in Tourism WA’s support to our industry

It’s also great to see people answering the call to explore the city of Perth and the surrounding area, as a result of our Perth Staycation campaign

We are also pledging to roll out work statewide, following the WA government’s recent announcement of $ 150 million to improve tourist attractions and destinations
