Former ONE and Bellator welterweight champion, Ben Askren, recently suggested a boxing match that would include Joe Rogan.
Askren, retired from MMA after three bouts in the UFC in 2019 resigned, YouTuber Jake Paul is due to box over the Triller Fight Club on April 17th.
While promoting the fight, « Funky » appeared in a recent episode of Food Truck Diaries written by the former UFC heavyweight contender Brendan Schaub was moderated. During the episode, the two retired MMA fighters talked about who Schaub might be fighting in a celebrity boxing match. « If you ever see me in a celebrity boxing match, life isn’t going well, » Schaub said Askren.

Askren then asked Schaub who he’d like to fight and « Big Brown » said Dwayne « The Rock » Johnson.
« I’m trying to make money, you know? » Said Schaub. “I could choose a big star, Will Smith or The Rock. The Rock, no exam. That would be sick. « Askren then said that Smith was » said old-fashioned « and » too easy « .
Schaub agreed and said, » Yes, and when I fight The Rock, no one will cheer me on. In any case, I always say, if I have a celebrity boxing match, it means business is not going well. «
Big Brown then said he regards » Funky’s « fight with Paul as different from what he is talking about.
Little Later in the interview, Askren spoke again about a celebrity boxing match and brought up another potential opponent for the former heavyweight contender: UFC color commentator and podcaster Joe Rogan.
Schaub replied that The Rock « would be a handful « if he were » pimped up « . Askren then said that Johnson hadn’t boxed before.
« I don’t want to fight him, » replied Schaub. « He’s one of my best friends. I don’t want to fight Rogan. »
« Yes, but I’m trying to take him off, » replied Schaub. « ‘Hey Joe, I know you’re in the money right now. You want to fight your boyfriend on a pay-per-view basis? » You know what I’m saying. «
Funky replied that his best friends are all wrestlers and that he « probably tried to beat them all up at some point ».

Funky is a 19-2 professional MMA fighter who has used his world class wrestling to win multiple championships. Askren was never known for his hitting skills but he will be his Hands on April 17th on Tuesday Try it when he boxes Paul (2-0 boxing).
It will be Askren’s first official boxing match. Confident that his competitive and fighting experience will be too much for the YouTuber, however, he predicts a round of 16. Victory.
