Gavin and Stacey will be returning « one day », according to BBC bosses. They confirmed that the popular show will be revived on Tuesday in the future.

Charlotte Moore, the broadcaster’s chief content officer, outlined the future of the BBC1 sitcom as she outlined the upcoming Christmas television schedule.

She said, « That wouldn’t happen this year » and followed, « One day. ‘

Fan Kirstie Smith spotted her out with her boyfriend and managed to snap a picture of the couple.

Due to COVID-19 rules and social distancing, the actors were unable to pose with them and smiled happily at them over a plexiglass screen for the photo.

She later said to Wales Online: “I was so happy to see her, but obviously disappointed in not being able to really approach her, but at least I managed to get a quick picture. ‘

Someone else who saw the duo that night tweeted, « I don’t want anyone going out of their minds, but I just saw Gavin and Stacey walk past me in Cardiff. Film? ‘

The sitcom’s co-creator Ruth Jones announced that there are « no plans » for the series to return anytime soon, thanks largely to the current pandemic.

The 53-year-old actress admitted that she and co-writer James Corden have to be « in the same room » to write her episode, which was impossible in 2020.

The long-awaited Christmas Special 2019 ended with a breathtaking cliffhanger. Nessa [Jones] proposed to Smithy [Corden] after confessing her love for him.

Ruth said, « I wish I could say yes, but as always, James and I like to write together in the same room and that’s just not possible right now because he’s in America and I’m in the UK. There are no plans at the moment, but who knows? ‘

The series was written by Ruth and James, who also appeared as on-off lovers Nessa and Smithy in addition to Mathew Horne as Gavin and Joanna Page as Stacey.
