Black Friday is usually expected to find almost anything you’re looking for at a heavily discounted price. However, if you’ve ever tried to find a sale for Apple products, you know the company can be notoriously stingy with its tech discounts. If you shop at Apple yourself, you are more likely to see bundled Apple Store gift card deals than actual discounts on the company’s coveted gear. The good news, however, is that other sellers like Best Buy, Target, and Walmart have no problem offering price cuts on Apple Watches, iPads, and accessories like AirPods and Apple Pencils – and we’ve already found a few. Here are the best Black Friday deals we’ve found so far on Wirecutter’s favorite Apple products.

Apple usually has a few different Apple Watch models available. In general, the latest version gets all the attention and the previous generation stays at a lower price. That year, however, two new models were released in September. The budget-conscious Apple Watch SE, our new top pick for the Apple Watch, has emerged as an option that instantly beats previous generation prices even when new, while still offering few features that we consider the best for most people Consider choice. We saw fewer sales and inventory availability for the previous generation Series 5, and a good number of worthwhile sales for the new Apple Watch SE and Series 6 from Best Buy, Target and Walmart. We think the 6 Series is over the top for many, and some previous generation models are worth your attention in new condition if their prices are good enough. However, at the current retail price of $ 230 (for the 40mm version), the SE is a value that is difficult to compete with when you need your Apple Watch to offer EKG functionality or a display that is always on. We recommend avoiding the older Series 3, although there are likely to be some exceptional promotional pricing. However, with newer versions, Apple Watches don’t change as much from year to year, and simpler and older models can still perform all of the core functions B.. tracking your fitness, providing message notifications, quick access to frequently used apps like alarms or cycle tracking and of course showing the time.
When looking for a new Apple Watch charger or band, the options we recommend are rarely offered by Apple, and it’s much easier to find one.

We think the 11-inch iPad Pro is an excellent tablet, but just a good laptop. The processor, screen and camera surpass typical iPads and offer an impressive library of tablet apps for drawing, writing and editing photos. We don’t like the smart keyboard as much as the Microsoft Type Cover, however, and we believe the iPadOS puts limits on coding, web development, or using an external monitor. This is the best discount we’ve seen for this option so far, but some people may find that the 128GB of storage isn’t enough. The Mini has an A12 processor (like the 8th Gen iPad). Generation) and also supports the Apple pen.
Apple typically has many versions of the iPad available for sale at any given time. There are currently four main models including the iPad Pro (in two screen sizes), the iPad Air, the iPad and the iPad Ipad Mini. This diversity makes it easier for you to find an offer on an iPad that you like than on other Apple devices.
While older models are still in stock in some places – including Apple’s refurbished store – the current base model (Aug.. Generation) the best iPad value we’ve seen in years. As with other Apple items, expect lots of iPad deals from Apple’s website only on Black Friday. In other stores, small discounts of 5% to 10% are common year-round, but as an iPad model ages, discounts often improve at stores like Best Buy and Walmart. You can find tablets from companies other than Apple that use the Android operating system instead, and Amazon’s Fire tablets are also available. We really believe that the iPad is the best tablet for the most part. However, if you don’t plan on using a tablet often or are trying to find a deal, other tablets might be a good option.
Apple’s AirPods earbuds and the updated AirPods Pro version (which are now available from both Walmart and Amazon for $ 170) are the first example that many people think of when buying wireless headphones, but we do do not recommend them if you are looking for the best wireless earbuds out there. For the price, other wireless earbuds sound far better than Apple’s earbuds. Senior executive Lauren Dragan, our headphone expert, writes, « At the end of the day, we don’t like the AirPods Pro. We just like to use other earbuds a little better. “If you own an iPhone and prefer the usability enhancements of the AirPods, consider the Beats Powerbeats Pro earbuds instead. They’re also made by Apple, so they include Siri integration and pairing as quickly and easily as the AirPods, but they sound and fit better.
We’ve posted regular deals that put the Powerbeats Pro pair on sale for around $ 200 – slightly less than many of the AirPods Pro deals we see. With Black Friday rolling around, another 10% off is a notable discount.

The 2020 model also has a newly improved keyboard and higher screen resolution than most of our PC recommendations. The disadvantage: it doesn’t have a touch bar and the 8-hour battery life of the Intel version is inconspicuous.
For deals on the latest MacBooks that we recommend, it is best to keep an eye on the major retailers like Best Buy or B&H Photo. Even $ 100 off an Apple entry-level laptop is a decent deal, and well worth jumping into if it’s the model and configuration you’re looking for. At large sales events like Prime Day and Black Friday, the discounts don’t get much bigger, but stores may offer a free gift card or bundled item – think free software, not a free iPhone – to make the offer more enticing shape.
You will rarely find a listing on a specially ordered MacBook or MacBook Pro, and expect no sales in Apple stores or on the website outside of Black Friday. If you want to buy direct from Apple, your options for a discount are limited. Students and teachers can take advantage of the education store, but that usually only offers a 5% to 10% discount on most computers, and during back-to-school days it generally offers some sort of bonus or bigger discount on a bundle. However, we’re big fans of Apple’s refurbished store, where anyone can buy Apple laptops that have full warranty (and the same coverage options as new laptops), often at significant discounts. When you’re ready to buy last year’s version – and we have advice on that for current computers – the discounts can be even better.

It doesn’t feel as bulky as you’d expect from an extra protective case, and the buttons click great, the colors are very nice, and you can charge wirelessly through the case. If all you’re looking for is accessories, avoid Apple’s website, which discounts accessories just as rarely as other products from the company, and offers limited choices. On the other hand, we also don’t recommend buying the cheapest chargers and cables you can find, as they are typically unreliable or even dangerous. However, we have tested and reviewed hundreds of accessories to find the best. These models are generally available at lower prices than the options Apple offers.
Chargers and cables are a particular weak point for Apple brand accessories. We often recommend options from large accessory companies such as anchors, as these tend to last longer, perform better, and cost less. In addition, companies such as Anker, Aukey and RAVPower are offering their models for sale more frequently. However, many of these items require you to buy them direct from the company or find them on Amazon.
We’ve tested hundreds of cases over the past few years, and even the best iPhone and iPad cases aren’t particularly expensive at normal prices. So if you wait for a sale you are not saving much.

Occasionally, you can get gift card discounts for the iTunes Store and the App Store at every retailer that sells them – except Apple, of course. However, we’ve never seen discounts on gift cards for Apple’s retail stores.
But gift cards show up as extras when you buy something else. Apple is known for providing gift cards instead of lowering the price of equipment for Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and back-to-school promos (this is why we recommend looking elsewhere if you can find Apple items for cheap Products). . Apple isn’t the only company hiring such deals, however: Target and Walmart, for example, offered similar gift card incentives during the holidays.
Most people would rather save money than get a gift card for business. However, if you’re really interested in getting the latest iPhone backed up (and if you happen to come across one of these offers), you can get a gift card out too. Getting a card isn’t as good as getting a low price on an iPhone, but both Target and Walmart offer a great variety of inventory – you won’t have any problem spending the money, even if it’s on groceries for the next month is determined.

Outside of the Apple Store itself, Best Buy has the largest selection of Apple devices available from a major chain, as the electronics giant sells Apple laptops and desktops unlike some of its competitors. Best Buy also has the most regular and heavily advertised Apple sales throughout the year, although only some of those sales offer prices that are worth your time. Look out for deals on iPads and Apple Watches on Black Friday – the bargains will be just as good as those of the competition. Accessory prices will also be; Best Buy, for example, often reduces the HomePod. Best Buy differs from the competition with MacBooks with regular offers for both the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro lines. Discounts aren’t usually massive, especially for new models – the current MacBook Air and MacBook Pro usually go for $ 50 to $ 200, depending on full price – but we occasionally see even bigger discounts towards the end of a MacBook generation.

Throughout the year, Walmart regularly offers small discounts on Apple favorites such as the iPhone and iPad, as well as on accessories such as Apple Pencil and AirPods. There are also big discounts on occasion, especially on Apple Watches and iPads, and these are especially likely during Black Friday. You can also expect Walmart to match Amazon prices on Black Friday (and vice versa) if possible. Target offers its own retail prices for aging but current iPads as well as current and latest generation Apple Watches, sometimes during daily sales, but especially during Black Friday. Target’s Apple retail prices typically match discounts at other large stores. However, if you’re a RedCard holder you can save an additional 5% – not a huge discount, but enough to offset some sales taxes. Like Walmart, Target doesn’t sell MacBooks or iMacs, but in general you can find accessories like iPad keyboard cases, AirPods, and Apple Pencil in addition to the iPad and iPad Pro tablets, HomePod, and Apple TV. Target is also offering Black Friday gift card specials for an iPhone with activation. However, this is a typical promotion offered by a number of retailers. So choose a store that gives you the best value on gift cards and that you are most likely to use.
If you’re looking for deals on MacBooks, iPads, Apple Watches or iPhones, you won’t find these bargains in the Apple Store or on the Apple website. According to Nick Guy, our Apple expert, company discounts are rare. When Apple has promotions, the offers are usually presented in the form of gift cards (rather than lower prices) that are given out when purchasing Apple gear. « Even when Apple offers cash-off offers, there are often no significant discounts, » says Nick. If you’re looking for bigger discounts, check out other websites and stores like Amazon, Best Buy, Costco, Sam’s Club, Target, and Walmart.
However, you shouldn’t expect great Apple deals on the latest items from third-party suppliers, either. A newly released iPhone or Apple Watch is unlikely to get any discounts at all, but models that have been around a bit longer tend to be fair game. Here’s what we know about the evaluation of the best Apple deals we’ve received from third parties.
Buying a refurbished item – one that has been returned or otherwise repaired – directly from Apple is a great way to save money. « Apple’s outdated products are just as reliable as new and almost always cosmetically indistinguishable, » says our author Nick Guy. They also come with an Apple one-year warranty and are eligible for the optional AppleCare Extended Warranty.
However, if you see a price on a third-party website on an iPhone, iPad, or MacBook that’s too good to be true, it’s likely a device refurbished by a company other than that became apple. Such a deal can feel a bit sketchy, and it’s probably best to be clear about it, especially with a purchase with a high price tag. “With the exception of refurbished products that Apple sells itself, refurbishments usually have a shorter warranty than new models and no quality guarantee,” warns Nick.
