TV star McCall, 53, returns as a panelist on the ITV show along with Jonathan Ross, Rita Ora and newcomer Mo Gilligan as they try to guess the identity of the mysterious cast members.

She told ITV’s This Morning, “I found it more difficult in its time. I think they (the singers) know where our brains will go, there is a strange algorithm going on and they think they’ll send you off easily.

« But not only that, the singers this year are so interesting because you will say, ‘I think they are American’ and next week you will say, ‘I think they are from the far north ‘and they fake it . . . ”

Hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield enjoyed a sip of mulled wine before lunch as well as festive dishes from Chef Gino D’Acampo, who served a Christmas starter with smoked salmon and avocado tartare.

Schofield also received a special video message from Schitts Creek star Annie Murphy during the taped celebratory episode.

In the short clip, Murphy, who plays Alexis Rose on the comedy series, said, « I like loving this vacation trip for you . . . «

There were emotional scenes when Evie, an eight-year-old diagnosed with a rare blood disorder, turned her home into a snow-covered grotto before getting the chance to meet her favorite singer, Olly Murs.

Schofield said, “After months of strenuous treatment and countless hospital stays, we thought Evie deserved a special treat this Christmas. ”

And 10-year-old Maizie, who cared for her younger brother when her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, was also particularly surprised.

During a trip to Lapland UK, Maizie, a huge dance fan, was invited to join Anton Du Beke on his show next year.

The first Christmas special in This Morning’s 32-year history also featured Dick and Angel Strawbridge discussing their Christmas show Escape To The Chateaux At Christmas.

Singer and TV presenter Rochelle Humes, who is a regular guest on This Morning, gave viewers a glimpse into her and husband Marvin’s son Blake, who was born in October.

She said, « He’s doing so well and he’s behaving well. He’s much more involved in social media than I am!

« I don’t want to jinx it, but he slept from 10 recently. 30 a.m. to 6 p.m.. 30 o’clock . . . I mean, we haven’t slept much, but the last two nights have been really good. ”

When asked by Willoughby how Blake’s two sisters had treated the newcomer, Humes said, “You are brilliant. They’re all over him all the time, arguing about who’s going to hold him and who’s giving me the baby wipes . . . but it’s really nice and i think because he’s a boy there is no competition, they are just trying to be mini-mummies! «

The looks of Baby Blake also made Willoughby say, « Oh, I want one of those . . . « to which Schofield replied, » No, you don’t! « .

Tony Hadley from the Spandau Ballet also treated the audience with a rendition of Santa Claus Is Coming To Town.
