Holly Willoughby’s sister Kelly revealed she was heartbroken when they were forced to separate their first Christmas in 40 years.

The couple are among the million families who can’t party together this year after London and the Southeast face a brutal Tier 4 ban.

Kelly has now shared her grief over being kept apart from her TV star sister, who lives in London with her husband Dan and their three children.

She called the new restrictions « more than heartbreaking, » but vowed to start the Christmas schnapps and chocolate early.

In a post on Instagram she shared a picture of the sisters and wrote: « So sad that for the first time in 40 years I can’t be with my @hollywilloughby.

« It’s more than heartbreaking. Now, do something to keep your head straight. I can’t knit for toffee but I try bloody. . .

She has been inundated with messages of support from her followers, many of whom are going through similar situations.

One wrote, « The same goes for me, my darling. . . my sister, my parents – all of us in tier 4 !! « 

Holly also took to Instagram to admit she felt blue about her canceled Christmas party, but she told fans that she played Kate Bush records to cheer herself up.

In a post on Instagram, Holly shared a picture of the singer and wrote, « I got out of bed and played this wonderful goddess this morning. . . it helped. « She added a red heart to Enoji.

The new restrictions came over the weekend prohibiting anyone in Tier 4 from mingling with anyone outside their household or bladder – even on Christmas Day – other than exercising outside with another person.

There is also a stay at home order, which means that anyone in Tier 4 « cannot leave or be out of the place you live unless you have a reasonable excuse ». .

Outside of Tier 4, England residents have cut their Christmas bubbles to just one day, while Wales and Scotland are also facing stricter restrictions.
