World News – UK – Ian Culverhouse’s reaction to Linnets’ win, Lupano’s future – and Gash’s comeback

. . Ian Culverhouse was a lucky man when King's Lynn Town moved into the top half of the National League table thanks to a 2-0 home win over Dover Athletic.

. .

A header from Rory McAuley in the first half and a penalty from Adam Marriott towards the end resulted in consecutive wins and, above all, zero for the Linnets, who are now 12. are in the table.

While Lynn worked well on counterattacking the Barnet midweek win, it was a role reversal case when the visitors launched a rearguard action.

« Very good, » said Culverhouse. “I thought our form was good, they obviously had a game plan to hit us on the counter and created some good opportunities, but I thought we put them together quite well.

« We did it at Barnet so we had to be patient in possession and processing our openings and I thought we were good on the ball today. ”

McAuley made another big change after his midweek efforts at Barnet, scoring the first goal after 43 minutes. Michael Clunan’s perfect corner went home.

« Good set play which is nice because we don’t get a lot of points on set play and he attacked it really well, » said Culverhouse.

Sonny Carey was blocked by Cairo Mitchell, but his left foot shot didn’t have enough stab and the goalkeeper saved with ease.

Mitchell then did well to turn the area on, but his ascending shot was too high.

Lynn should have continued when new signing Kyle Callan-McFadden found deliberate header striker Ross Barrows to play for Sam Kelly, who returned the favor. Barrows entered the area and pulled it back for the storming Alex Brown, but the defender kicked him aside from 10 yards.

The breakthrough came before the break, and then Marriott completed it from 12 yards after Mitchell was turned upside down. A foul resulted in a red card for Ryan Hanson, who was substituted on after the final whistle by manager Andy Hessenthaler showed a red for dissent.

Culverhouse made two changes to its starting line-up, with Callan-McFadden making his debut ahead of loanee Danny Lupano and Sonny Carey standing in for Ryan Jarvis.

Lupano received a monthly loan from Hull City, but Culverhouse said this would not be extended now.

The Lynn boss also said striker Michael Gash, who has not played since a summer sickness this season, would sit on the bench for the FA Cup’s grand second round in Portsmouth next Saturday.
