Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service visits a fire at All Saints Church in Mackworth, parts of which date back to the 14th century. Century.

Firefighters currently have six fire engines, two aerial platforms and a water carrier in use to fight the fire.

Lower Road in Mackworth from Jarvey’s Lane to Church Lane is closed and drivers are advised to avoid the area.

Derbyshire Police have stated that Lower Road is likely to remain closed for some time while the fire is cleared. People are advised to stay away from the area.

She said, « One of our oldest churches was burned down and is still burning. « 

A witness of the fire expressed her grief over the tragic devastation caused by the flames.

The Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service has numerous vehicles at All Saints’ Church on Lower Road in Mackworth and advises people to avoid the area.
