Strictly Come Dancing created an unforgettable homage to the war dead in remembrance Day that featured professional dancers performing on the White Cliffs of Dover as well as the inclusion of a video starring Captain Sir Tom Moore.
While the nation fell silent in the morning to celebrate the end of World War I, at 11 am on the 11th of the 11th month in 1918, the BBC One Celebrity Dance Competition chose to commemorate the event the only way it knows how – with a specially designed dance
Strictly Come Dancing led to the White Cliffs of Dover by late artist Dame Vera Lynn before they returned to the studio with a WWII-style group dance floor to Dame Vera Meet again

The performance was emotional to many viewers: « # Exactly what’s wrong with me crying in this memorial dance @bcstrictly #scd »
The honor also included an audio comment from Mrs. Vera, who passed away in June at the age of 103
Another fan meticulously posted: « I always love to dance professionally on Memorial Day; it’s always very classic # Strictly »
The Memorial Day tribute at #Strictly always arrives beautifully again every year
There was some concern that the dancers were just a touch too close to the white cliffs, although we are sure to adhere to health and safety guidelines at all times
Remembrance Day celebration also included cut-offs for charitable hero Captain Sir Tom Moore, who was a veteran of service in India and Burma during the war
Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One on Saturday November 14, with the remaining ten contestants competing to stay in the dance competition another week
