The new homes – in Cardonald in Glasgow, Bishopton in Renfrewshire and Falkirk – will all be for social rent and provide much needed housing for the local people in the three parishes.
The largest development will see 58 houses take shape on the site of the former Royal Ordnance Factory in Bishopton. The houses are part of a huge regeneration project in the former ammunition factory, in which the land is being converted through residential houses, commercial units and a new communal forest park.
The Loretto Homes being built by Robertson Partnership Homes are part of a wider 206 home development. The houses are funded with £ 3. 6 million charitable donations from the Scottish Government’s Allia-managed investment program and a 1 million grant. GBP from the Scottish Government. In the meantime, 32 houses for people over 55 are being built in Glasgow on the site of the former Berryknowes Resource Center on Hallrulle Drive in Cardonald. The new houses were supplied by the McTaggart Group for Loretto and financed with £ 3. The Glasgow City Council’s 2 million scholarship will have a community garden and provide much-needed housing so that older people can live independently in their own four walls for longer.
In Falkirk, 21 new Loretto homes will breathe new life into Cobblebrae Farm in Bainsford. The affordable homes will be built by contractor Sim Building Group and funded with £ 1. 8 million grants from the Scottish Government are granted alongside Cobblebrae Community Woodland.
Loretto Chairman Douglas Robin said, “We are very excited to begin work on these three affordable housing developments. They will remodel previously dilapidated locations and offer the locals spacious, modern and energy efficient homes.
