Premium Bonds can be held by anyone 16 years of age or older with £ 25 or more to invest.Every £ 1 invested buys a unique bond number and these numbers are entered into a monthly raffle where the holder has the chance to win cash prizes of £ 25 to £ 1 million
The winners are revealed at the start of each month and for October the jackpot has been won by a man from Kent and a woman from Humberside
This person holds a total of £ 50,000 in premium bonds and the winning bond was purchased in March 2017
The victory, according to NS&I, makes the man the 22nd winner of £ 1million Kentish premium bonds
This bond is also part of a stake of £ 50,000, with the winning bond purchased in June 2014
NS&I and premium bonds in general will make changes in the coming months according to announcements made by the organization on September 17th

NS&I has announced that it will begin phasing out the use of warrants (like a check) from December 2020, with the February 2021 premium bond draw being the last time the warrants price subscription will be issued by NS&I
Instead, customers will be able to get the prize they win directly into their bank account or automatically reinvested up to £ 50,000 in premium bonds
For affected clients, NS&I urges them to take action to ensure that they are ready for the changes to come, which can be done by managing their profile on the organization’s website
Warrants will still be able to be mailed during the October and November raffles, but clients who do not take action will receive a prize claim letter instead of a money order starting in December
Jill Waters, Retail Director of NS&I, commented on the upcoming changes: “We will phase out the use of prize warrants from the December 2020 Premium Bond raffle.
