Star India has acquired the media rights from Cricket South Africa by the end of the 2023-24 season, including 20 bilateral matches between India and the US Proteas side in Asia, the Middle East and North Africa.

The association will begin a tour of England to South Africa on Friday, according to a media release.

According to the Future Tours plan, the South African men’s team will play 59 games at home, including series against top teams such as India, England and Australia.

The « Men in Blue » will tour South Africa three times during this time. The first of these tours, which includes three tests and as many T20Is, begins in 2021-22.

The agreement also applies to the women’s international cricket games played by the Momentum Proteas, as well as the CSA men’s domestic franchise games.

“We are very happy to be working with Cricket South Africa. South Africa has some of the most famous cricketers and competitive teams that pride themselves on taking on the best from around the world. We look forward to hosting the best South African cricket by 2024, ”said Sanjog Gupta, CEO – Sports, Star India.

Kugandrie Govender, Acting CEO of CSA, said: “There are few social events on the South African sports calendar that get our fans so excited about the cricket showdown between South Africa, India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. We therefore wholeheartedly welcome this agreement with Star India. ”

This is a first for Star India for a bilateral cricket tournament outside of India that will be produced in Hindi in addition to the English feed.

Star India already has global rights for ICC, BCCI cricket and the Indian Premier League, among other cricket rights.
