Kent’s largest theater will stream its pantomime online for free – after being forced to cancel the festive show at the venue due to coronavirus restrictions.

The Marlowe Theater in Canterbury should start on Nov.. A series of Nurse Nellie Saves Panto will be held on December 31st, after the venue stopped full production of Jack and the Beanstalk earlier this year.

However, when the county was ranked Tier 3 after the second national lockdown and the theaters were forced to stay closed, the start date was changed to Jan.. December postponed.

After another delay and the introduction of Tier 4 rules, the bosses have now announced that Sister Nellie Saves Panto will air online instead.

Deborah Shaw, General Manager of Marlowe, said: « Now that the audience can no longer see Sister Nellie, we are thrilled to be able to beam her into everyone’s living room instead. « .

« We hope everyone enjoys the show and that it brings much-needed cheers after such a challenging year.

« It’s a fun gem full of familiar gags and routines that is set to surprise us in its entirety by next year with Jack and the Beanstalk.

« We also have a number of brilliant shows planned for next year and we really look forward to welcoming the audience back. â ????

Filmed earlier this month to a small staff audience, the original plan was to stream the Evolution Productions co-produced nursing home and household shielding show.

This came after experts predicted Kent could stay in the toughest coronavirus gang well into the new year.

Marlowe bosses say the venue’s festive pantomime is one of the most successful in the country, typically seen by more than 90 every year. 000 people is seen.

The play plays Marlowe’s pantomime regular Ben Roddy, West End performer Chanice Alexander-Burnett and comedian Lloyd Hollett.

Viewers who have booked a seat for the production will be contacted by the theater in the next few days to arrange a credit or refund.
