Steve Smith, Meg Lanning and Ellyse Perry are in the running for the crowning glory of international cricketer of the decade, while David Warner the garish Australian is omitted from the list of ICC finalists.
The ICC nominated Smith as the only Australian for the Sir Garfield Sobers Award for ICC Cricketer of the Decade – including Tests, ODIs and T20Is.
Smith’s competition consists of Ravi Ashwin, Virat Kohli, Joe Root, Kumar Sangakkara, AB de Villiers and Kane Williamson.
And Lanning and Perry will be judged against Suzie Bates, Mithali Raj, Sarah Taylor and Stafanie Taylor.
Other Australians interested in gongs include Mitchell Starc in the ODI category and Aaron Finch and Alyssa Healy in the T20I section.
That leaves no room for Warner, the veteran opening batsman who has shown strong performances across all three formats over the decade.
Warner has 7244 career test runs out of 48. 94, 5303 ODI runs at 44. 94 and 2265 T20I runs at 31. 45.
When determining the final winners, the fan vote makes up 10 percent of the vote, while the votes of an expert panel make up the remaining 90 percent.
