It is a battle between two of the three land grant colleges that are not named for the state in which they are located. If this were a soccer game we could probably expect a bloodbath, but it’s basketball and that means we have a chance. Clemson was far from impressive in his 53:42 win over Mississippi State last night. Al-Amir Dawes and PJ Hall led them with 10 points each, but they were dismal 19 out of 54 off the field and 5 out of 25 out of three.

No wins are automatic and you still have to play. This is a team that was up and down like Purdue last year, to the point where we had the exact same record. Purdue’s newbies in Jaden Ivey, Brandon Newman and Zach Edey were hugely impressive against the Flames, and Trevion Williams won’t have as bad a game as he did against Liberty.
