NBA commissioner Adam Silver is likely to give his name to Hinton, in his NBA draft on Wednesday.

Swingman 6’6, from Gastonia, North Carolina, same birthplace of legendary Los Angeles Lakers, James Worthy, Hinton had a good year with the Houston Cougars. He started all 31 matches in his second season, averaging 10. 6 points, 8. 7 follow-ups best career.

The second team was honored at the Pan American Athletic Conference during the 2019-20 college basketball season, Hinton shot 38. 7% from downtown and also scored eight double-season husbands.

Some draft experts speculated that Hinton might land with the Boston Celtics in the second round and was rejected. 47 choose in general.

Hinton appeared on this week’s episode of Heavy Live With Scoop B Show and discussed his expectations for the draft, Marcus Smart, Avery Bradley, Jimmy Butler and others. .

“I’m excited. On a scale of 1 to 10 after I heard my name called, it would definitely be 12 or 13. But for now, it’s kind of a 7 or an 8 now. Every hour that passes, I get more nervous in my stomach and things like that, but I am not so tense or very anxious just because it is part of Allah’s plan and you know, all he means is intended and I will take it on your chin, I just appreciate this opportunity and excited to start this new journey.

“I got older, my mom used to ask me and my brother, ‘What will you do when you get older? “And at a young age I think, ‘I don’t know what I want to do. For the time being, I am enjoying playing basketball . . . «  And as you get older, and because it is not a traditional job where you usually get a degree from going to school and xyz, then you get a job where you can improve yourself in every situation. So over the years this kind of motivated me to show me and mom that, « Look. This is what I want to do and this is how I want to do it. So I will use the things that I instilled in me and this is where it comes from . . . Also, that hunger and this drive to be one of the best players in the game. I put a lot of work into; It took a lot of time so I guess that’s what drives me.

« Honestly, I play like a dog outside; I don’t think you can tag who I play like. I play sort of like Marcus Smart because of the way he plays with his aggressiveness, he is all over the place and mentality of Patrick Beverly and Montrizel Herrel; Guys like that. It’s not the fact that I play like them but, it’s just the mentality that I have with men like these. So he’s a bit of Avery Bradley and he’s just guys who are proud of guarding and I think beyond their size, they just have the talent and are proud I’m gonna stop you and I’m going to make my team stop and activate my team . . . I think that’s where the comparisons can come from.

« just the usual. Just trying to get to know me. Since you are watching the movie, you hear from the coaches doing research on your background and then as soon as they get a chance to see me, you see that is my right.. But it was just really general questions and they were trying to pick my mind and see what it’s all about and I’m all about winning. You know, the Boston Celtics have a history of winning, and that’s the kind that piqued these guys’ interest and we’ll see what happens..

“I think the most strange question is describing the people in the room. There were a lot of people in the room. A group of twelve people and it was just a matter of knowing if I was okay – one of them was a farmer, another guy was an ex-pro, another guy was just a random guy. . . . But, there were 12 people in there and I say, « We’re here to talk about basketball, we’re here to join your team. » . . . And you’re trying to figure out what three men look like alike and I’m like, “They all look like they’re farmers, but they all have something to do with basketball, so I guess they’ve all played pro . . . «  But it was weird to me because he was way out of the norm than everyone else, and that was pretty much it.

“The most common question I got was“ Is this really real? « They want to know and hear from me is this real. They want to know what they see and hear from the coaches, is that the truth. Who do you say you are and who do you think you are. And this is the thing that I’ve been hanging my hat on – Can you be a dog, can you go in and contribute, and my answer is definitely I can. I was built for it and obviously it will be some of the roles that I have to deal with and a lot of things will be different, but at the end of the day the basketball goal is to put the ball in the hole, bounce, defend and prevent the other team from scoring, it’s simple; And make the correct readings and things like that so that I don’t try to overthink or complicate them.

“I met Orlando Magic, The Clippers, Timber Wolves, Golden State Warriors, Memphis, and Charlotte. The Brooklyn, Rockets and many other teams are clearly on the list. There is a lot of m . . .

“This is the guy I’ll be looking at a lot. Young Jimmy Butler? The Chicago Bulls Jimmy Butler with all the veterinarians on the Jimmy Butler team. Because when I come in the league, they won’t ask me, ‘Nate, go over there and score 30 . . . « Like, I know that. They’ll say, « Nate, do your job. ». Get in there and bounce back and be who you have been but, take it a little better . . . « They’ll want me to get better, but that young Jimmy Butler who’s going out there grinding and doing the dirty work and developing? And year after year – and I know I work hard. I have a history of that. I will not get here and change. So, year after year and little by little, brick by block, only getting better year by year, and finally in the third, fourth, fifth, or sixth year. . . . We have progressed and I strongly believe that because of this hard work it paid off. There is no other choice. They keep talking about the three balls, but that intermediate level is the bread and butter. We are only working on all aspects of the game. And the thing that a lot of teams think I can’t do because I haven’t shown it is dribbling the ball, you know. She played a guard in high school. So you can fall in love with the survey report if you want to, but it’ll just be another opportunity to showcase it. Never got a chance in Houston. I played my part, but if you ask me to play ball in your hands . . . Yes, I can. This adds even more value to what I can actually do which is to bounce, defend and drop the treble.
