Ranch star Dax Shepard revealed he had recently relapsed during his sobriety journey.In Friday’s episode of his Armchair Expert podcast, the actor, his opioid use did not started after his motorcycle accident last month but dates back to his father’s death in 2012 Shepard spoke about his addiction to the pill and the important role his wife Kristen Bell played in helping him through her struggles

News
Shepard agreed, but when he had to go back to visit his father, Bell couldn’t be with him So he traveled without medication When he visited his father, Shepard gave him Percocet Shepard also took double his other prescription. « You know we had so little in common and so much friction, » Shepard explained. « But the no. Bell surprised Shepard at the hospital, where he admitted to having relapsed.The Veronica Mars star told him to call someone at Alcoholics Anonymous because she understood how much her motorcycle accident and stress of his father’s situation weighed heavily on him “That was eight years ago,” Shepard said. “Now I had that experience where I did that, I felt bad, but there was no fallout It was like, I felt bad, I said I felt bad, then I moved on and it was good «
Shepard said he got hurt again and took more pills It kept him awake, so he decided to stop taking them on his own This cycle « happens maybe three or more times « Said Shepard » I feel dodgy, but I don’t think that’s a problem I didn’t want any more when the thing was over « Since Shepard has been an avid motorcyclist he has suffered several injuries in the past and has had seven surgeries After riding on a track, he feels « allowed » to take two Vicodins at the end of the day
At first Shepard thought it was okay, but about six months ago he started to feel « darker and darker » as he continued to use Vicodin over the past eight weeks, he was using the drug « all day » and he kept his addition a « huge secret » from Bell and his podcast co-host, Monica Padman. « I felt so bad because of the lie, » he said, NBC News note « I was just very scared and felt very, very lonely »
