CLEVELAND, Ohio – More than 50,000 FirstEnergy customers in Cuyahoga County go without power Sunday night due to bad weather in northeast Ohio

Most outages affect customers in Cleveland (27,416) and Lakewood (18,762), starting at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, according to FirstEnergy outage reporting site Brooklyn has the second highest number of outages , with 2285 reported, followed by Rocky River (1100)

More than 1,300 FirstEnergy customers in Lake County are also reporting outages; Mentor has the most with over 600

The Cleveland office of the National Weather Service issued a wind advisory in effect until 7 a.m. Monday The advisory warns of northwesterly winds of 25 to 35 mph, with gusting gusts up to 50 mph The gusts could be even stronger closer to the lake shores, according to the NWS

Much of northeastern Ohio saw rain, sleet or even snow on Sunday, with temperatures between 30 and 30 hoursm Sunday Bad weather will not dissipate in the region until Monday morning, according to forecasts by the National Weather Service

Cleveland Public Power also announced numerous power outages on Sunday afternoon caused by fallen wires.The power company updated affected customers on its Twitter account throughout the day

The month of October has more than doubled what is normal for rain in Cleveland; also high elsewhere in Northeast Ohio
