The Los Angeles Lakers are said to have an « interest » in a blockbuster business that would send Kyle Cosma and Danny Green to the San Antonio Spurs in exchange for DeMar DeRozan

Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer reported Thursday that it is one of several potential moves under consideration by Spurs, with LaMarcus Aldridge and Patty Mills also in the trading block

It looks like San Antonio may be heading towards rebuilding a full-scale roster after the 22-year series of qualifiers ends in August.

Moving these notable players, along with a devalued asset in the Mills that can be a great competitor’s weapon, saves play and usage time

Cosma and Green, who previously played for Tottenham from 2010 through 2018, will be complementary players San Antonio will also likely try to get some recruiting picks in any deals involving DeRozan, Aldridge and Mills to start the retooling process.

Meanwhile, the Lakers are on a winning streak now that LeBron James and Anthony Davis lead the franchise to the 17th Championship in October

Kuzma and Green both struggled to produce a steady effect throughout LThe title run, particularly in terms of hitting outside shots, making them a frequent target for criticism in qualifying.

Assuming Davis re-signed with the Lakers, and yet there is no indication that he will not, DeRozan could be slipping as a more reliable third-goal scorer heading towards defending his title

So on the surface it looks like a potential bargain for both Los Angeles and San Antonio, although it is unclear how deep the negotiations between the two sides will be at this point out of the season.
